Coach Eye

I have my mohawks!

Both Ways!

Smooth.

Silent.

Consistent.

I run into my coach on ice and tell her, "Hey, I have my mohawks!"

Even though we're not in lesson, she says, "Show me." with that special coach face.
Yessss....sssshhhhow me...your mohawks
So I do them....badly.
My coach is like:
So, let me rephrase it, I have my mohawks, both ways, smooth, consistent AS LONG AS MY COACH ISN'T EYEBALLING ME!

  1. ROFLOL! I always use the "Show Me" phrase on skaters. It really sucks when they've "learned" some new trick at a camp or in groups/Bridge. The mechanics are there, but it's barely recognizable. Hate to burst their bubble.

  2. Happens to me all the time. At the beginning of a lesson Coach wants to see stuff I've claimed to have been polishing since last time. Of course that's when my muscles and brain aren't yet in synch. This is actually good--Coach sees me at my weakest when all the flaws are obvious and my ability to compensate is at its lowest. After that brief demo the real coaching begins.

  3. Isn't that the truth! I can perform my elements as long as my coach isn't watching and/or videotaping me. Congrats on getting your mohawks on both directions!!
