For the non-ice dancers in the audience, the Hickory Hoedown is a Bronze level compulsory Ice Dance. Affectionately known as the "Hick Ho", it has a peculiar square dance step I like to call the "Hick Kick". It's a dance that just cries out for a costume.

Beautiful skating quality in the video. I recently tested the Hickory Hoedown, and I'm certainly not that good, but I did pass the test at the standard level as a middle-aged adult, so I'm happy about that. That dance does cry out for a cheesy costume, doesn't it? I'm not a big fan of country, but my coach did have one song for the Hickory that I liked and chose to skate to, Eat at Joe's.
