Out of My Comfort Zone...on IceI

I had a couple of coccyx falls and now I wear a coccyx pad in case I fall on my ass again. I don't want to go through that pain again. Let's just say, I bruised places that in reality, the sun cannot shine there without major medical intervention.

Anyway, while I was skating today the coccyx pad kept slipping around. And trust me when you've got something sliding south on your butt, you cannot do a 3 turn.

In the spirit of the season, it was creepy.

When I got off the ice I found the coccyx pad had slid down and rolled up, so I looked like I was hiding a chihuahua in my skate pants.

TMI?

Please God, Please, let no one have taken pictures of me today.

  1. What pad do you use? I had a fall two weeks ago....was wearing my Waxel pad...and I still can't do a thing because of the pain. (I'm an artistic roller skater...those wood floors are not kind.)
Love your blog!!! This post hit close to home!

    1. I use a skatingsafe knee pad. I don't think it would work for roller. And really, really expensive.

  2. Not TMI. Just time for sewn-in pads. I wear padded snow board shorts, (sourced from REI), which have permanently sewn in d3o pads over the trochanter regions of the hips as well as a coccyx pad. At my age I doubt that anyone snaps pix good or bad.
